It is good for the price. If you leave it in the water for more than 30sec-1min it will sink , which is not good !!! I solved the issue with a piece of yellow foam swimming noodle, the small ones ( wallmart $3) and introduce it in the lower part of the paddle, it fits perfectly and it does not get in your way when paddling.
I operate a rental boat company and recently purchased 4 of these paddles. The construction seems good and solid. They are more sturdy than what we were currently using. May not be top of the line, but they are perfect for what we need.
I weighed it on a gram scale and it's actually 3.5 lbs, not the 2 as advertised. My handle doesn't adjust, pulled the unit that contained the two lock pins out, and the bar wouldn't come up. After using a real carbon fiber one, I think I'll just fork over the extra money. Hey, it's cheap, but it also mean that it's cheaply made.
