bought this for an upcoming trip to London where I didn't want to be pulling both a full size wheeled suite case and a carry-on wheeled suite case through London. With this bag I can pull my main bag and wear my carry-on, plus with the current carry-on weight restrictions a wheeled bag weights too much (this bag is what, 3 pounds, versus 10 plus pounds for wheeled bag), meaning less stuff I can bring. With your carry-on items on your back I think you're more likely to sneak onto the plane with extra weight (stuff). For a photographer this has become key.

The bag has a nice padded slot for my lap top, a organizer area, tie-downs straps both inside and outside to make my load appear smaller, even exteriors loops to hold my tripod should I wish (once on site).
