My son ( 10 years old ) was going to surf camp and he needed a board. They have the option to rent for $100.00 for the week which would be in my terms money wasted. I went to like I normally do for most of my on-line shopping and this popped up. I was highly skeptical but for about $100.00 I took a chance. We also had a used 8 foot board that my younger daughter was using. My son had a harder time learning on the shorter board and spent some time with the longer one which was more stable and easier to learn on. This board is shorter and is more maneuverable but those things make it harder to learn on because it is less stable. Once he got "the idea" and switched back to this board he had a great time. It is lightweight and should only be used for kids or anemic adults but it is perfect for someone just starting out. The learning curve will be longer than using a longer board but once they "get it" then it is absolutely perfect for t......
