I use the water shoes two to three times a week in my water therapy class, and they protect my feet from the rough pool bottom.
This product lives up to its advertising, and I don't go to class thought them.
I picked up a pair of these before going on a whitewater rafting trip on the Middle Fork American River in CA. They worked perfectly for keeping my feet warm and giving good footing whether in the water or hiking the trails. The bottoms can feel a little thin after walking on rough rocks for a while, but the trade-off is that you know where your foot is and if you have traction or not. I was not slipping around like the people with sneakers who can't feel the rock contours through their thick soles.
